The search to find the next Maldon Carnival Court has started. We are looking for a Queen or King and two Princesses or Princes to represent our Town around the county.
Being part of the Maldon Carnival Court is a great honour, you will be representing your town and raising thousands of pounds for charity. Your official duties will begin at the start in May where you will be officially crowned as Queen/King/Princess/Prince.
Carnival week is an exciting time for the court as well as being one of the busiest parts of your reign. During Carnival week we host a number of fun activities for children and families where the court will be able to help and in some case even take part in the activities.
The baby show, for example, the court has the proud honour of assisting presenting the Bonniest Baby with their trophies and prize. At other Carnival week activities, like glue and glitter you be able to help the children make all sorts of wonderful creations.
Alongside the activities of Carnival week you will also have the opportunity to visit retirement homes, and preschool/nurseries.
There will be no Carnival Procession this year, instant the Carnival will attend our new Field event in Heybridge.
The Carnival court will visit different Carnivals around the county throughout the year including Witham, Braintree, Burnham on Crouch and attend a number of dances, presentation evenings, town functions and Carnival activities. They are a fantastic opportunity to meet new friends and have some fun.
The majority of events outside of Carnival Week happen on a Saturday or Sunday. Still interested? If you want to be part of something special and be part of our town’s history, build up your confidence, visit other towns and have lots of fun along the way, do not delay apply today.
Applications are open to boys and girls from the age of 5-7 (Rosebud) 8– 17 (Princesses, Princes and Queen. You must be able to attend a crowning evening on Saturday 13th May. If you like to apply, please download the application form below.
